The room was tastefully decorated and very clean. The bed in Lorraine (the middle of 3 rooms) was super comfortable and overall it was a lovely cozy space for our quick 2 night stay. It was easy coded access and check in/out was seamless. Be advised this is not a "bed and breakfast." For a similar rate you can find breakfast included and closer proximity to town, and possibly a check out of 11 am instead of 10 am (which was a push and dissimilar from other times in nearby lodgings for our group). If your aim is to be away from it all this is your retreat. The walls between the rooms may not provide the noise cushion you want if you're seeking privacy, but if you're coming for a girls weekend or extended family stay and know your neighbors, it would be grand. You could also book the 3 Sisters and be almost on the same property. In our case, all of our family was in town and we felt a bit distanced from the main gathering places. Overall it is a beautiful room just feel the price is a bit high for what it offers.
We really enjoyed out stay at the French Cottages. Within walking distance, or just a 2-3 minute drive to everything. The cottages are like stepping back in time, but with some modern touches. We definitely recommend them, and would stay here again.
We stayed in the French cottages this past weekend for our anniversary. The room was beautiful!! It was a nice stay for 2 days. Definitely would stay again!!! They provided snacks, coffee and even a bottle of wine for our anniversary. Very thoughtful people.
My husband and I absolutely love visiting Jefferson. He grew up spending time in this charming town with his family, while I had never even passed through until we began dating. Since then, it has become our go-to destination for a quick getaway — even though we live just an hour away. Jefferson has truly become a “home away from home” for us. We typically stay at one of the local hotels during our visits every few months, but after our recent stay at The French Cottages, we can confidently say we won’t be staying anywhere else moving forward. We stayed in Alsace, the first cottage, and were thoroughly impressed. The space struck the perfect balance between timeless charm and modern comfort. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with thoughtful touches including coffee, snacks, bottled water, sleeping masks, and even couples games — all of which made the stay feel exceptionally curated and cozy. The room itself was beautifully furnished, featuring a lovely fireplace that added warmth and ambiance. The bathroom was a highlight, with a spacious jetted tub and a separate standing shower. The TV, equipped with Roku, gave us easy access to streaming services like Netflix and Hulu, which was perfect for winding down in the evenings. To our delight, the room was also stocked with wine glasses and a corkscrew. On our first night, we chose to stay in and enjoy a bottle of wine together. Unfortunately, one of the glasses accidentally broke. We reached out to our hosts, Taylor and Zach, to let them know — and they responded with such understanding and grace. That level of hospitality remained consistent throughout our stay. They were prompt, kind, and attentive with every interaction, which made our experience even more enjoyable. Without hesitation, we will be booking The French Cottages again for our future visits to Jefferson. It was one of the most thoughtful and comfortable stays we’ve ever had, and we’re already looking forward to returning.
Accommodations were above & beyond our expectations. My husband was blown away by the newly remodeled, spacious bathrooms. They gave us a bereavement rate because we were there for a family funeral. They even helped us find rooms for family in other hotels and competing B&Bs. Now, that’s unheard of where I’m from! They lit a fire pit for our large family to sit around , chat & make s’mores after the funeral when only 2 of us were staying at The Kennedy Manor. We couldn’t stay for breakfast so they made us muffins & made us a pot of coffee for our early departure.
It is a wonderful clean place. Easy access and extra goodies. We loved it and will be back.
My wife and I just spent a wonderful night in the French Cottages in the Strasbourg unit. It was lovely. The decor was superb and the bed was so comfortable. There were water bottles and snacks and coffee and plenty of brochures and menus from local businesses. Jefferson is a great town to visit with lots of history. We couldn't ask for a better place to stay. It is close to town yet in a quiet neighborhood.
Our room was very clean, pretty, and historic! The room provided snacks, waters, and coffee. I would highly recommend these cottages and will be returning in the future!
